Two seriously injured in Hwy 174 collision near Trim Road

The Ottawa Police Service is asking for the public's help in their investigation into a head-on collision on Hwy. 174 near Trim Road on Monday, Feb. 13 that left both male drivers seriously injured.

The accident took place at approximately 4:40 p.m. just east of Trim Road where the four lanes narrow down to two. The road is marked by a double solid line.

Both vehicles sustained a tremedous amount of damage and the Ottawa Fire Service had to use specialized equipment, including the jaws of life to extricate them from their respective cars.

They were both transported to hospital are treated for their injuries. One of the men was released the same day, while the other had to be kept overnight for further treatment.

Police are asking for the public's help in trying to determine which of the vehicles crossed the double line, causing the collision.

Anyone with information is asked to contact the OPS Fatal Collision Investigation Unit at 613-236-1222, extension 2345.
