Grandmaitre, Virgo, Evans returns as presenting sponsor of Outcare Foundation golf tournament
By Fred Sherwin
July 24, 2018

The Orléans law firm of Grandmaitre Virgo Evans Lawyers/Avocats has a long history of supporting local organizations and projects.

That history dates back to the firm's earliest days when co-founders, Gerry Dust and Brad Evans, did pro-bono work for non-profit start-ups like the Orléans Legion and the Orléans Young Players Theatre School.

The firm's commitment to the community lives on through the efforts of partners Evans, Phil Grandmaitre and Josee Virgo.

Brad Evans has supported his community as past-chair of the Ottawa Mission and the Heart of Orleans BIA, and as a Board Member of Arts Ottawa East.

Phil Grandmaitre gives of his time as president of the Navan Community Association and the Business Club of Orléans and runs the minor baseball program also in Navan.

Josee Virgo is heavily involved in the community with a focus on youth soccer and basketball.

Grandmaitre shared the firm's commitment to the community. "It's always been one of our pillars - giving back to the community that supports us. We've tried to make sure that it remains a big part of our firm's culture.

One of the affiliations the firm's partners are most proud of is their ongoing support of the Outcare Foundation as a co-title sponsor of the Outcare Golf Classic taking place on August 17 at the Hammond Golf and Country Club.

The Foundation provides financial support to palliative care providers throughout Eastern Ontario. The lion's share of the funds provided are raised through two main events, a Black Tie Bingo held in November, and the Outcare Foundation Golf Classic.

The golf tournament is a natural fit for Grandmaitre Virgo Evans, which specializes in estate planning and administration, in addition to wills, real estate and corporate law.

"The work the foundation does is so valuable to the people who need it, says Grandmaitre. "Organizations like Outcare let people spend time with their loved ones in a more peaceful and relaxed atmosphere at a time that can be very stressful.

Last year's tournament raised over $55,000 for palliative care in Eastern Ontario. For more information about the Outcare Foundation and the important organizations and initiatives they support visit their website at www.outcarefoundation.org.
