The Gloucester Music Club brought its 2013-2014 season to an magical close on Saturday with a pair of entertaining recitals that showcased the diverse talent of some of the area's youngest musicians.

The earlier of the two rectials featured several outstanding performances, most notably Amy Li's spell-binding rendition of Debussy's "Claire de Lune" and Dorian De Luca's flawless version of Alexander Scriabin's "Etude in C#m Op 42 No 5".

Other notable performances included Meghan Lau's rendition of Kuhlua's "Sonatina in A+ Op 59 No 10"; Angelina' Zheng's recital of Chopin's "Nocturne Op 9 No 2"; and Wei Lin Zhang's renditon of "Etude Allegro" by Yoshinao Nakada.

Lucy Whichelo brought a smile to the older members of the audience with her rendition of the Beatles' "Let it Be" and Reta-Anne McKay inspired everyone with her vocal performance of "Colours of the Wind" from the Disney Movie "Pochahantas".

The Gloucester Music Club is an offshoot of the Gloucester Music Teachers Association. The series of four concert recitals is held throughout the school year to give students the opportunity to perform in front of an audience.

It is also meant as a lead up to the Kiwanis Music Festival, which is held every spring, and the Royal Conservatory of Music exams whish are held in the late spring and early summer.
