The Cumberland Minor Hockey Association went into the District 9 House League championships on the weekend with 12 teams in the running for a championship banner.

Six of the 12 teams faced off against each other, guaranteeing the CMHA of at least three division titles at the Peewee A, Midget B1 and Midget B2 levels. Of the six other teams, four of them skated off the ice with a gold medal around their necks, giving the CMHA six division championships in total.

The gold rush started with Cumberland's Atom B8 team which beat the Blackburn Stingers Atom B team 5-3 to win the B2 division championship. Ethan Grosser scored a hat trick for the victorious Dukes, while Jake Wilson and Brodie Chapman each added a goal. Isaiah Kwapisz, Julien Brunelle and Costas Villejos all scored for the Stingers.

After losing the Atom A and B1 division finals to a pair of Leitrim teams, Cumberland won its second championship banner in the Peewee B2 division when the Dukes B5 team defeated the Metcalf Jets B3 squad 5-1 on goals by William Loyer, Patrick Schwilden, Alex Chambers and Ryan Bani, who had a pair.

Cumberland's next two championships came in the Peewee A and Bantam B2 divisions. The Dukes' Peewee A1 team beat theur A3 clubmates 2-0 on a pair of third period goals by Nicolas Lefebvre and Gage Worrell, in the first all Cumberland final of the weekend, and the B1 team downed the Leitrim B4 squad 3-2 in double overtime to capture the Bantam B2 championship.

Raphael Caron opened the scoring for the bantam Dukes on a pass from Isaak Landry late in the opening period, and then he returned the favour, setting up a goal by Landry to give the Dukes a 2-1 lead in the second. Leitrim eventually tied the game midway through the third to set up the double overtime winner by Andre McGregor.

Cumberland's final two banners came in the Midget B1 and B2 divisions. In the B1 final, the Dukes B4 team beat the B10 team 4-1, and in the B2 final the B6 team upset their B1 clubmates 4-3.
