The Cumberland
Grads exploded for nine goals against the Kanata Stallions Friday night
to extend their current winning steak to six games.
Rookie Kale Wild
and Mathieu Ouellette each had a hat trick for the Grads who went into the
Kanata Receational Complex and outshot the home team 55-34. Ouellette had
three assists as well to lead the Grads with six points, while Mike Lemay
had a pair of goals and Kevin Lough added a single in the 9-6 win.
The Grads were
up 4-1 midway through the second period when the Stallions scored three
unanswered goals to tie the game at 4-4.
Wild`s third
goal of the game and second of the period with 1:03 left to go before the
second intermission would prove to be the game winner as the Grads scored
three unanswered goals in the third to extend their lead to 8-4.
Kanata managed
to respond with a pair of goals to narrow the deficit to 8-6, but that would
be as close as they would get as the Grads added an empty net goal with
less than a second to go in the game to make the final score
9-6.
The Grads next
game is at home on Sunday against the Nepean Raiders. Game time is 3 p.m.
