make it to semifinals of
All-Ontario bantam championships

Jr. 67s, made up of players from across the city including seven local athletes,
managed to make it to the semifinals of the All-Ontario AAA Bantam Championships
before losing to the London Jr. Knights.
a 3-1 decision to the Jr. Knights, they lost 4-3 to the York Simcoe Express
in the bronze medal game on Saturday on a goal late in the third period.
with an east end connection on the team included Alex Gudbranson from Chapel
Hill South who was named to the First Team All-Star squad on defence; Alex
Boivin from Orleans; Daniel Walsh and Justin Millson from Gloucester Centre;
and Adam Lloyd, Jamie Molinski and Nathan Pancel who are all products of
the Blackburn Minor Hockey Association.
Pancel had two
goals and an assist in the game against York Simcoe, while Boivin had a
goal and Lloyd added a helper. Walsh had the lone goal in the semifinal
loss to the Jr. Knights, with the assist going to Lloyd.
Just making the
semifinal was an accomplishment for the Jr. 67s who have only been in existence
for two years since the ODMHL decided to establish AAA teams at the bantam
and midget levels.

portion of the tournament. After opening the tournament with a 3-2 lose
to the eventual champion Toronto Marlies, they registered wins over the
York Simcoe and the Nickel City Sons before tying the Jr. Knights 2-2. They
then went on to beat the Thunder Bay Kings 4-3 and the Soo Greyhounds 4-2
to finish second in the standings.
