An employee at the Real Canadian Superstore on Innes Road has recently tested positive for COVID-19. According to an e-mail message sent out by store management last night, the individual in question has not been in the store since May 3.
In response to the positive test the store is going over and above its daily disinfectant protocols and the social distancing practices they put in place in response to COVID-19.
Sprecifically, the store was given a thorough cleaning last night. They are also reaching out to Ottawa Public Health to investigate the employee’s recent shifts and direct contacts and they have instructed any potentially exposed team members to stay home and self-isolate.
Finally, out of abundance of caution, they took the extra-ordinary step to notify customers who recently transacted at this store.
"We understand that you may have questions and want to assure you that we take your safety, and the safety of our team, very seriously," the e-mail went on to read. "We will work with the local public health team on any further directions and encourage you to reach out to them if you need more information."
