Police suspect Fallingbrook school fire was deliberately set

The Ottawa Police Service Arson Unit is investigating a fire which caused $1 million in damge to St. Francis Assisi School in Fallingbrook on Tuesday.

Firefighters responded to a 9-1-1 call at around 2:30 a.m. early Tuesday morning regarding flames on the roof of the Watters Road schoo. The fire spread from the roof to the school's duct work in the ceiling causing further damage.

Evidence would suggest the blaze was deliberatly set by an individual or individuals who climbed onto the roof.

Anyone with any information is asked to call the Ottawa Police at 613-236-1222 or Crimestoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
