Arrests made in Blackburn Hamlet drive-by shooting

By Fred Sherwin
Orléans Online

The Ottawa police have arrested a 46-year-old Ottawa woman and an underage suspect in connection with a drive shooting in Blackburn Hamlet in which a man was shot in the leg while sleeping in his bed when one of the bullets passed through an exterior wall.

Christine Miner has been charged with multiple firearms related offences after search warrants were carried out on two homes on Russell Road in which a loaded .22 calibre handgun was seized.

Three people were arrested, but only Miner and the underage suspect were formally charged.

According to police, the victim was not targeted, but it was unclear if the shooting was random or targeted someone else.
