An observant Queenswood Heights resident is being credited for thwarting a daring daytime break-and-enter on Thursday, leading to the arrest of two men including an individual wanted on a Canada-wide warrant.

The tipster observed one of the men kicking in a neighbour's door on Duford Drive shortly after 12:30 p.m. on Thursday and immediately called 9-1-1.

As the police arrived on the scene one of the men was walking out of the house with stolen property in his arms and his accomplice was sitting in a car in the driveway.

Both men attempted to flee on foot, but were apprehended and placed under arrest.

When investigators later identified the suspects they found out that one of them was wanted on a Canada-wide warrant for breaching his parole. Victor Buglar, 37, is a three time federal offender who was granted parole after serving 33 months for breaking and entering, theft under $5,000, and possession of property obtained by crime.

The Ottawa Police issued a press release on Wednesday, asking for the public's help in locating Buglar. Little did they know, they would have him in custody 24 hours later thanks to a random 9-1-1 call.

Besides breach of parole, Buglar is now facing additionsl charges including seven counts of breaking and entering and three counts of possessing property obtained by crime.

His 54-year-old accomplice has also been charged with breaking and entering and possessing property obtained by crime.
