The Ottawa Police have issued a warning about a possible predator after a man tried to lure a 14-year-old girl into his pickup truck near the corner of Orleans Blvd. and Longleaf Cres. in Chapel Hill South.

The young girl had just stepped off her school bus when the man in question pulled up and began talking to her with the intent of trying to get her into his trulk.

He continued to persist until a pedestrian approached them, at which point the man drove off heading southbound on Orleans Blvd.

The male suspect is English-speaking, between 25 and 30 years of age, with a very thin build and short blond hair.

Anyone with information is asked to contact the Ottawa Police Service Sexual Assault and Child Abuse Unit at 613-236-1222, ext. 5944.

Anonymous tips can be submitted by calling Crime Stoppers at 613-233-8477 (TIPS), toll-free at 1-800-222-8477, or by downloading the Ottawa Police iOS app.
