Innes Road lane reductions begin today
By Fred Sherwin
Orléans Online

East end motorists who use Innes Road for their afternoon commute may want to use an alternate route as work begins on building an additional lane on Innes Road between the Hwy. 417 off-ramp and Blair Road.

Innes Road will be reduced to two lanes in the eastbound direction most of the day. Three lanes of traffic will be open during the afternoon to accommodate peak period traffic.

The widening of Innes Road will increase capacity for eastbound traffic by providing an additional through lane between the Highway 417 west off-ramp and Blair Road during Confederation Line construction. The construction should be completed in September.

Motorists and cyclists should anticipate traffic delays and are advised to practice extra caution while following the directional signage around the construction zone. OC Transpo service and pedestrian access will be maintained throughout construction.
