The
Ontario Fire Marshal's office is investigating a blaze
that completely destroyed a single-detached home on Pagé
Road early this morning.
Firefighters
were dispatched to the home at 2243 Pagé Rd. at
around 12:35 a.m after receiving multiple 9-1-1 calls.
The
house, which is located on the east side of Pagé
Road between Innes and Meadowglen, has been under construction
for nearly three years. A scaffolding running along the
entire length of the house is all that remains of the
home which has not been occupied in quite sometime.
The
property is also surrounded by a seven-foot high safety
fence.
Besides
consuming the house, the fire also caused a considerable
amount of damage to the property next door, melting away
the siding from the side of the house and charring the
plywood underneath.
The
cause of the fire will be determined during the investigation.
