Owners Julie Tessier-Woodcock and Amanda-Lyn Smith are both registered massage therapists with over 25 years of experience between them..

Julie Tessier-Woodcock graduated from the Massage Therapy program at the International Academy of Massage in Ottawa in 2001. Before that she earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Human Kinetics from the University of Ottawa.

Amanda-Lyn Smith graduated from the Massage Therapy program at The Canadian College of Massage and Hydrotherapy in Newmarket, Ontario in 2000. Since earning her RMT designation, she has earned her certification in therapeutic ultrasound; the Muscle Energy Techniques workshops (Cervical and Lumbar/Pelvis); a certificate for the instruction of infant and pediatric massage; and her Cranial Sacral certification.

The two women joined forces in 2003 to open The Massage and Treatment Clinic and since then they've worked hard to build up a loyal clientele and earn a reputation for providing quality massage therapy and treatments with a personal touch.

As Registered Massage Therapists they must possess liability insurance and adhere to regulations set forth by the College of Massage Therapists of Ontario and the Regulated Health Professions Act. The same is not true for or ortho-therapists, who do not have to operate under the same stringent guidelines.

At The Massage and Treatment Clinic they truly care about each and every client who passes through their door. As health care professionals they take the time to accurately assess the client's ailment and then proceed with whatever treatment or treatments are the most effective in alleviating the problem.

Whether it's pregnancy relief, Cranial Sacral therapy, ultrasound or any other treatment they specialize in, you can be assured that at the end of the day you will be feeling better, stronger and more confident.

Julie and Amanda-Lyn were recently recognized for their efforts at the 2009 Consumers Choice Award where they received the award for best massage therapy clinic for the second year in a row. Recipients of the award are based on a random survey of more than 1,500 people in the National Capital Region.

At The Massage and Treatment Clinic they offer bilingual service and flexible hours. Appointments can be made during the day, in the evening or on weekends.

The benefits of massage therapy are almost too numerous to list. It creates body awareness, foster peace of mind, improves blood and lymph circulation, improves posture, lessens stress and reduces anxiety by promoting a relaxed state of mental awareness and increases mobility.

The cost is extremely reasonable and the prices are based on 15 minute intervals. On a special note, massage therapy is often covered by your extended medical plan when conducted by a Registered Massage Therapist
