Garden program provides over 1300 lbs in produce for Ottawa

The Ottawa Mission has received over 1300
lbs of fresh produce this summer thanks to
the efforts of members of the Orleans Community

Community Garden has managed to provide over 1300 pounds
of fresh produce to the Ottawa Mission.
A Row, Grow A Row was first launched on a trial basis
by members of the Orleans Community Garden last year.
Under the program, seeds are given to gardeners under
the provision that any excess produce they grow is donated
back to the community.
trial program was so successtul the Community Garden board
of directors decided to implement it on a much broader
basis this year. The result was 1,328 lbs of everything
from green peppers to egg plant.

came to Orléans to express his gratitude in person.

Orléans Community Garden is located on St. Joseph
