Reine-des-bois daycare director says wandering kids never left staff's sight

By Fred Sherwin
Orléans Online

The director of an Orléans daycare where five kids wandered off from the grounds to go to a grandmother's house, says the children never left the sight of staff who returned them to the school.

Francine Beaudoin says staff at La Coccinelle daycare at the Riene-des-bois elementary school in Queenswood Heights saw the five kids in question wander down a wooded pathway. The staff member called after them and then ran to get them when they failed to respond to her calls.

The staff member retrieved two of the children on the pathway and then caught up to the remaining three kids at a grandmother's house. The grandmother then drove the kids and the staff worker back to the school..

After talking to the daycare staff, Beaudoin feels they did nothing wrong..
