Body of missing Orléans man found

By Fred Sherwin

Ottawa Police have confirmed that a body found in the east end on Saturday is that of 56-year-old Noarmand Savard, who was reported missing on August 13.

Savard was last seen leaving his office that day. He had said he wasn't feeling well, and left early.

Police had traced his cell phone to a location near the Ray Friel Centre, but officers were not able to find Savard during a ground search at the time. They were not able to triangulate the location of his phone because it had been turned off or the battery had died.

Police say no foul play is suspected in the case.

A posting on the website helpfindnormandsavard.com reads, "Norm, you will be missed by so many people. We will never forget you and your infectious personality! May you rest in peace. All our thoughts and prayers to the Savard family on this very sad day."

No further details are being released.
