Bike 'N Walkathon raises over $7K for local charities

inaugural Orléans Bike 'N Walkathon was held on
Sunday with just over 100 participants taking part under
a bright blue sky and brillant sunshine.
the event lacked in numbers it made up for in spirit as
everyone involved had a great time while raising over
$7,000 for a pair of local charities. The
money will be used to support the Fonds Gaulois and the
Bruyere Foundation which plans to renovate the kitchen
and dining area at the Résidence St-Louis.
Orleans Lions Club president Gerry Carisse was disappointed
in the turnout, he was elated with the amount of money
his organization was able to raise thanks to the generosity
of the nearly 50 sponsors who supported the event including
Roy & Associates Financial Services and Caisse Populaire

good time. For this being the first year I'm very happy,"
Foundation president Amy Desjardins said her organization
was grateful for the funds raised and she looked forward
to the continuing partnership with the Orleans Lions Club.
