Orléans resident Ryan Pownall made it all the way to the final show of the MuchMusic VJ Search but failed to make the final cut as he wound up placing third among the thousands of people who auditioned for the show and the 19 fellow hopefuls who made the Top 20.

Despite falling just short of his dream job, the 23-year-old St. Peter High School grad was thrilled to have made it as far as he did and he had no regrets about the month long journey which began a month ago in Vancouver.

"The overall experience of being on the show has been the craziest thing. I can't even explain," said Ryan. "I'll never ever ever forget this. This has been the best thing that's ever happened to me."

During the competition Ryan earned high marks for his energy level and his charisma. He also earned a reputation for being a master prankster along with his partner in crime, Drama Diabolos, who earned runner-up honours to eventual winner Chloe Wilde from Montreal.

Now that the MuchMusic VJ Search is over, Ryan will go back to his deejaying large events in such far flung places as Cancun and Punta Cana and pouring drinks at Tequila Jacks on the Market.

Moments after placing third, Ryan tweeted his many followers and supporters who consistently kept him high up on the leaderboard in terms of how the VJ hopefuls were trending.

"It's not the end of the road guys it's just a beginning!" Ryan tweeted. "Thanks so much for all your kind words and support throughout this entire journey."
