Third residential fire in less than a month leaves Orléans family homeless

By Fred Sherwin
Orléans Online

An Orléans family has been left homeless on the eve of Easter Sunday after a fire caused significant damage to their Cousineau Street bungalow late Saturday night.

Fire crews were called to 1276 Cousineau St. at 8:40 p.m. When they arrived the garage was already fully involved. The flames quickly got into the attic, causing damage to the second floor ceiling before firefighters managed to gain the upperhand.

A woman who was home at the time escaped the blaze. Her husband and their two children were not home at the time. The family is staying with relatives until they make other arrangements/

The cause of the fire, which left an estimated $150,00 damage, is under investigation.
